The reason we are Fellowcrafts

In the Fellowcraft degree, an earnest study of the Seven Liberal Arts and Sciences is recommended to the candidate with a brief lecture explaining why we ought to measure and study the natural world. Some Christian critics of Masonry say that by this, we are promoting Naturalism, or the belief that faith in God is not needed because His work is evidenced in all of creation. In considering this objection, the following passage came to my mind:

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world

(Psalm 19:1-4)

When we work in the world as Brother Fellowcrafts, there is nowhere we go and nothing we do that can drown out the glory of God's creation in all the world.
