The Entered Apprentice Degree is the first of the three symbolic degrees of the Blue Lodge. It is emblematic of the Apprentice status in an operative guild of workmen. The duties of an Entered Apprentice are to learn and study under the Master Masons of the Lodge.
The ritualistic ceremony pertaining to this degree is called "Initiating."
