In the Fellowcraft degree, an earnest study of the Seven Liberal Arts and Sciences is recommended to the candidate with a brief lecture explaining why we ought to measure and study the natural world. Some Christian critics of Masonry say that by this, we are promoting Naturalism, or the belief that faith in God is not needed because His work is evidenced in all of creation.
